It was a beautiful day on the courts and we had a record turn out for our Fall Social. Fun tennis, fabulous prizes, and a lovely lunch on the patio. Thanks to all who have paid their tennis club dues. Be sure to check out the photos posted.
Yes! the players had a FUN time competing in the Trilogy Team Tennis Tournament. From Manley: Once again this was a very close competitive finish among the teams. Final totals were, White Team 445, Yellow Team 442, Blue Team 428, and Red Team 393. Watch for this fan favorite event in the Spring. Congratulations to all of the participants. The participants played in some great matches braving the heat. After completing six matches the individual players scores were tabulated for the four matches they participated in, and the winners are as follows.

We welcomed 28 tennis enthusiasts to our first tennis club get together of the season. Watching the women's final of the U.S. Open tennis tournament on the big screen was awesome.
The Spring Tennis Social was held on Sunday, April 14, 2024, and our event theme was 'Spring into Tennis'. Members were encouraged to wear spring fashions and shared in the fun! Tickets sales were great, with over 120 members registering for the event.
The event included fun social tennis, a prize raffle, and a ‘photo booth’ at the Kiva courts and, of course, a FREE lunch for Tennis Club members on the Kiva Club patio.
In Trilogy's first women's doubles championship, teams competed in 6.0 and 7.0+ divisions over two days to determine the top Trilogy women's-doubles pairs. Rain affected the schedule, but round robin elimination was held on day 1 followed by the semifinals and finals on day 2 of the tournament. In the 6.0 division, Dana Reeves and Karen McClellan faced Susan Lutz and Cindi Gilmore. Susan and Cindi were victorious in a fun and nerve recking match, winning 8-5. In the 7.0+ division, Debbie Fenske and Susan Manganaro outlasted Peggy Jacobs and Diane Vetter 8-7 (10-7 tiebreak) in a long and competitive match to win their championship. The biannual Fun Teams Tennis Tournament (aka Manley Tennis) was held on Sunday, February 18th at the Kiva Courts. Four, eight-player co-ed teams compete in multiple timed doubles matches. Manley reported: "The tournament was terrific and I know from the many comments at the end that a good time was had by one and all. Thank you all for playing and making it a success." | Once again this was a very close and competitive finish among the teams. The final totals were, Yellow Team 404, White Team 393, Red Team 388, and Blue Team 375 - with 29 points separating the first and last placed teams, The teams were well-balanced, and the outcome was in doubt up to the very last of the six rounds. Everything went very smoothly thanks to the event organizers: Don and Linda Beardsworth, and Manley and Barbara Perkel. This tournament has been a member favorite for years and will be back! |
Teams competed in 6.5 and 7.5 divisions over two days to determine the top Trilogy mixed-doubles pairs. A Round Robin elimination was held on day 1 followed by the semifinals and finals on day 2 of the tournament. Some of our best players were on the Kiva courts showing off their tennis skills in this tournament. Congratulations to all the participants and especially the division finalists pictured below.
Our second Tennis Skills Challenge Event was held at the Kiva Courts on Thursday, December 7th. This fun social event was open to all members and skill levels.
Participants tested their tennis skill in the serve, lob, volley, and ground strokes by aiming at stationary targets. We also clocked your serve speed in addition to other fun activities. Participants earned a raffle ticket for each target they hit. The more targets hit, the better your chances for a raffle prize.

The return of the Trilogy-World Team Tennis Tournament on the Kiva Courts was a blast for all the participants! The Activities Committee held this fun event on Sunday, November 5th. The tournament pitted four, eight-player co-ed teams competing for total points in mixed, men, and women doubles.
The tournament was won by the green team (pictured below) in a close competition. While players were not participating in a match, they were receiving expert instruction on court 1. Thanks to Tom Leonard and Liz Barker for pulling together a fun event.
